HER STORY
After more than two decades in the service industry, I’ve had the privilege of working in many different studios across various cities. Yet time and again, I found myself in spaces that were overly competitive, male-dominated, had a toxic culture and rarely offered the sense of safety, support, or authenticity I needed to truly grow.
Eventually, I took the leap and opened my own studio, a decision that changed everything - you will never regret investing in yourself. But independence came with challenges; managing costs, bookings, taxes, and the pressure of running a business. I quickly learned that passion alone wasn’t enough; it required resilience and a willingness to figure things out as I went.
Even with creative freedom, I still longed for community—a place to share ideas, learn from others, and stay inspired. As an artist it’s easy to feel isolated, and I knew I wanted more. I wanted to create a space that provided the kind of support women needed to grow both creatively and professionally.
Mavens is that space—a collaborative studio where women can thrive and are united together by our shared values. We’re reshaping the narrative—replacing competition with collaboration, lifting each other up, and embracing our individuality to create something greater.
